A home for our lessons

The vision

Everyone is created with the capacity to leave the world better than we found it.

Sometimes that impact is visible. Sometimes it is known only to Allah (SWT). We may never see how far a lesson, a word of encouragement, or an act of sincere service travels. That is not ours to measure. What is ours is the effort: to show up, to give what we have, and to strive for excellence in whatever Allah (SWT) has placed in our hands.

That effort can change the world.

Education is one of the greatest trusts we can be given. When we invest in a young person, we are not only teaching them what to know. We are helping shape how they understand their deen, how they carry themselves, what they believe they are capable of, and how they use the gifts Allah (SWT) has given them to serve others and bring good into the world.

And that impact does not stop with them. What they learn, who they become, and the good they go on to do can reach people, communities, and places we may never know.

That is why we mentor at IhsanS, and why I give back at my local Islamic school.

Teaching is a blessing from Allah (SWT), and we want to honor that blessing with ihsan: sincerity, excellence, and care in everything we do.

The vision is to raise young people who know their deen, strive for excellence, live with purpose, and use what Allah (SWT) has given them to leave the world better than they found it.

That is how we change the world.

May Allah (SWT) make our intentions sincere and accept our efforts.

What is Firdous Academy

I make a slide deck for every lesson I teach, and I wanted my students to have a place where those lessons could live beyond the classroom. Somewhere to follow along during class, review at home, and return to whenever they need them.

That place is Firdous Academy.

Every course is laid out week by week. Each lesson stays available after we cover it in class, and everything is designed to work on any phone.

The deen is at the center, but the classroom goes beyond the lesson itself. Students also build leadership, public speaking, and career readiness along the way. The goal is not only to help them grow in what they know, but in who they become and what they are prepared to contribute to the world.

Why Firdous

Firdous is the highest garden of Jannah.

If ihsan is the standard we strive for, then by the grace and mercy of Allah (SWT), Firdous is the destination we pray for. It is a reminder that excellence in this life should always point toward something greater than this life.

That is something I want my students to carry with them far beyond the classroom.

One of my greatest inspirations comes from the final two ayat of Surah Al-Fajr:

May Allah (SWT) make us among them.

The courses

Hadith Studies is for grades 9 to 10. We work through Imam al-Nawawi's Forty Hadith one hadith at a time, studying what each one teaches and what it asks of us in our lives.

Worship is for grade 8. We begin with the why of worship before the how, then build toward salah with the goal of understanding the words, meaning, and purpose behind what we do.

Who teaches

Firdous Academy is taught by Hamza.

I'm not a scholar. I'm a volunteer teacher, and I take the responsibility of teaching the deen seriously.

When Qur'an or hadith are quoted in these lessons, they are presented with their source and attribution, and hadith include their grading where applicable. I don't present paraphrase as sacred text. And when a question belongs with someone more qualified, I'll say so and point my students toward a scholar.
